How Much Is the Piano Rental Deposit, and Is It Refundable?

Understand the monthly rent, security deposit, interest and refund terms before renting an acoustic piano for home practice.

The short answer

Piano rental requires a security deposit, and the deposit is separate from the monthly rental fee. For upright pianos in Bangkok, deposits currently start at THB 20,000 and vary by piano type and model.

When is the deposit returned?Churairat Music normally returns it on the day our team collects the piano, subject to the rental agreement.
Does the deposit earn interest?Deposits paid by cash or bank transfer earn 5% interest per year. Credit-card deposits do not earn interest, subject to company terms.

What is the difference between rent and the deposit?

Monthly rent is the service charge for using the piano during the rental period. The security deposit is held under the rental agreement, so the two should not be treated as the same type of cost.

Monthly rental fee

Paid for the use of the piano during the contract period. The rate depends on the selected type and model.

Security deposit

Set according to the type and value of the piano, and refundable at the end of the rental subject to the agreement.

Why is a security deposit required?

An acoustic piano is a valuable instrument with an internal mechanism that requires suitable care. A rental piano is installed and used in the customer's home for the contract period, so a deposit forms part of renting a valuable asset.

Who handles issues caused by normal use?

If the piano develops a problem through normal use during the rental period, Churairat Music is responsible for taking care of it. Damage caused by abnormal use, accidents or other circumstances is handled according to the rental agreement.

If you notice anything unusual, contact our team for inspection. Do not repair, adjust or dismantle the piano mechanism yourself.

Why might our deposit be higher than some providers?

Churairat Music considers the quality and value of every piano offered for rental. We do not select rental instruments only on the basis of the lowest cost. Even a piano starting at THB 990 per month is selected and prepared for actual use.

Because these rental pianos have meaningful instrument value, the required deposit may differ from that of some providers. However, deposits paid by cash or bank transfer earn 5% interest per year, subject to company terms.

Is the piano rental deposit refundable?

Returned on the day we collect the piano

Normally, when the rental ends and our team collects the piano, Churairat Music returns the deposit on that same day, subject to the rental agreement.

We value clarity and prompt repayment because the deposit remains the customer's money held by the company during the rental period.

A Churairat difference: 5% annual interest

Deposits paid by cash or bank transfer earn 5% interest per year. Deposits paid by credit card do not earn interest, subject to company terms.

If rent starts at THB 990, how much is needed at the beginning?

THB 990 is the starting monthly rental fee, not the entire amount due at the beginning. The deposit and delivery charge should also be considered.

THB 990/monthStarting Japanese Piano rent
THB 20,000Starting deposit
THB 2,500Bangkok transport

For an upright piano in Bangkok, the THB 2,500 transport charge covers outbound delivery, return collection and one tuning after delivery. It excludes moving the piano up or down floors and remains subject to service conditions.

To know the full amount required, first choose the piano type or model and ask our team to confirm the rent, deposit and related charges.

Do Yamaha U1 and U3 require the same deposit as the THB 990 piano?

Not necessarily. Each piano type and model has a different value, so the deposit is set according to the instrument and company terms.

Yamaha U1

THB 2,500 monthly rent and THB 35,000 deposit for Bangkok.

Yamaha U3

THB 3,500 monthly rent and THB 45,000 deposit for Bangkok.

Please ask our team to confirm current availability and charges before deciding.
